Ray's Thought for the Day - Red's Been Readin' the Newspaper
Rayetta had to translate and tone the following spell down some from the original spell by our esteemed employer, Red Ears. I, Ray together with my esteemed sister, the LDR, here provide the gist of the nub, absent what would be mostly lalas after the Arkdruid got hold of Red's original.
Today, in what passes for a daily newspaper in these parts, our well-coifed, semi-sissy governor was quoted as being in favor of teaching "intelligent design" in the public schools. He wants all the little ones to have the opportunity to hear two spells relevant to their origins rather than just the one. Too funny! The biology classrooms in Texas need to be bi-theoretical, according to Rick.
Actually, if we may generalize from the experience of the presumptive Crumby Ovate, a long-time biology teacher in three different Texas public schools, very little has been taught about our origins in those schools anyway. As it turns out, there's too much material to cover and the evolution section is one of the ones that often gets omitted from the curriculum, the anatomy of earthworms having a higher priority. So maybe Rick is on to something here. Perhaps if competing theories were taught, they would both get taught.
But as usual there is more at play here than the little kiddies socialization and quasi-edification. A gubernatorial election is upcoming and all the goobers are taking sides on the "issues". Rick, of course, wants to insure that those who may actually believe intelligent design should be taught in the public schools continue with their past voting patterns and vote for Rick, again. Perhaps there are a great many who want suchlike to come to pass and will vote for Rick, again. And Rick will get elected, again, on account of the pro-intelligent design vote.
What a hoot! Most of the other goobers came out against it, teaching it in the public schools.
I, Red Ears would pay a hundred dollars to be "present" in a Texas biology classroom to enjoy the spectacle of any Texas biology teacher holding forth on the subtopic, "The Galapagos Finches - Intelligent Design or Evolution".
All righty then. The spell for today is, How many goobers would we have absent the allure of easy money and golf vacations?
