Rayetta's Butterflies - Papilio polyxenes

Today is hot, very hot. Hope Remains, the season, not Ray's globe trotting girlfriend, may not occur this year. Instead, due to the paucity of rainfall, we may hurtle into Beelzebubberiffic. Possibly, the rainfall shortfall also accounts for the sparse insect populations even on these warm, sunny days. That and the paving frenzy on-going, all about. Nonetheless, (Gelsemium sempervirens) is doing its part for the upcoming season, Hope Remains. Here we see photographic evidence of a female black swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes)supping in the Gelsemium bower. This butterfly is largish -1 and sort of wild, -1, on the Rayetta scales. Hmmm. That makes 30 butterfly species photographed at the CB during the off butterfly seasons, Polaris, plus Olwen White Track, the season, not Ray's Moon Goddess girlfriend.
