Ray's Thought for the Day - Look Whut the Cat Drug In, Snuffle

Cat's have a down side if ye like wild birds. Data brought this one in, still alive, but the poor little feller expired shortly after his tardy rescue. Grasshopper sparrow (Ammodramus savannarum)Course the sparrow could have already been afflicted when Data found him, maybe. Seems like most of the cats I know like to fetch in the wrong kinds of birds, at least that's my way of thinkin' on this subtopic. Generally the most casualties seem to occur during migration. One spring a cat, Kitty Doolie maybe, brought an eared grebe into the residence area. There aint any standin' water for miles so that grebe probably ran into somethin' around here while flyin' durin' its migration.
