Ray's Thought for the Day - I am a squirrel (Sciurus niger)

Oh, I live here at the old CB,
Cause that is where the nuts are free.
Plus they put out water just fer me,
I'm happy to dwell at the old CB.

Then I venture along to the old birdbath,
A thirsty throat I need to lath.
That bloodthirsty Lulu may be fast abed.
Yet I gotta drink quick ere I wind up dead.

Cause that dang dog has murdered my kin,
and that dang dog is not my friend.
So I need to drink fast then run up a tree,
Fore that dang dog gets after me.

What's that flower there floating on the water?
I could eat that flower, perhaps I oughter.
Er, perhaps I oughter let it be,
Fore that dang dog gets after me.

It is a good thing for this particular squirrel that it was so fretful of the dog. Otherwise, it might have eaten up that blossom of the deadly Gelsimium sempervirens, otherwise known as Carolina Jessamine. Then, once this particular squirrel consumed that deadly blossom, it might have killed itself and the dog too. Plus it might have killed all the faunistic elements that fed upon itself, plus the dead dog. A whole food chain might have been eradicated due to the greedy irresponsibility of this or that particular squirrel.
