Ray's Thought for the Day

Whoa! Formosan termites!

Apparently, they are in the mulch prepared from the trees blown down by the unprecedented hurricane that hit a ways east of here last summer. Great good fortune for the pesticide companies is prognosticated by the general arrival of the Formosan termite in the mulch, everywhere. For the threat of the Formosan termite is just as good fer business as the actual general distribution. Truly, the Formosan termite is apt to boost some local economies. Thank goodness, Tom Delay, an expert in the sphere of pesticide appliation on termites and such, is still in the Congress and will know how to get the most out of this situation.

Mercy! Snuffle. It's back to grubbin' this afternoon, but Red has had pity on me, and give me the mornin' off. And I, exhausted by great labors, much akin to the Labor Pains of the Ulaid, and others among the historical great pains, like the feller that gets his liver eat out by eagles ever' day, have not been up long nor had my oatmeal.

By the way, here's a tip. If ye don't want all sorts of weeds and varmints from foreign parts gettin' in yer yard and house, ye are out of luck, fer such is the price paid fer globalization. That's why the CB has designated me, Ray to be on the watch fer aliens and deal with them, when, not if, they arrive on the premisis. So if ye bring in compost, ye are gonna get weed seed and and strange vermin with it. Then ye can boost the economy gettin' rid of the weeds and strange vermin.
