Ray's thought for the Day - The Sadly Deteriorating Climate in These Parts
All righty then. My bossy sister and even my bosom companion have been on me to sum up the tics. I, Ray, have been very busy with Sun God Training, plus I was hoping to surprise everybody with the completed new Cow Barn Official Druid Calendar. (A footnote of that document shall include a tic summary). But no, no, no, Rayetta and Crumby kept after me, "Sum up the tics Ray, you need to sum up the tics Ray, we are curious about the dang tics Ray." Morning, noon and night, that's all I'd hear. Enumerate this, sum that up, Ray!
A feller can only take so much! So this morning I have been busy, summing up the tics and translating the tics into inches. Since various of us have been variously in charge of going out to look for the tics in the guage, some bias may have been introduced into the the guage reading experimentation due to the different heights of the investigators or the manner in which each of the various ones interpreted the position of the miniscus. Also, some observations may not take into account whether a leaf or drowned bug was in the guage during the observation interval. Even considering all this potential bias, however, I have come up with a sum that is close enough for government work. And that sum is, translated into inches, in the neighborhood of 15.15 inches. Using the Julian for reference, since the Druid calendar aint ready, that translates into 15.15 inches for January through September of 2006. Just over ten inches of that rain fell in two months, March and April.
Also, it's getting hotter due to all the asphault and gaseous emissions increasing by leaps and bounds. So, combine increased heat with less rain and what do you get? Easy that, desertification. Only the irrigated prosper.
Yep, the Mammonite Christians have long maintained that more heat was good for the trickle down economy. But they didn't reckon on the Wicker Man, turning up sooner, rather than later.
