Magnus Magnetico - Behind the Scenes

OK Rayetta. What I am thinking about doing is skipping around with Magnus. Like I may wish to eschew a time linear approach to Magnus’s biography. That way I could avoid the pitfall so common to most literary effort, the end, without making the tome too long.

What Crumby? You lost me.

You were not paying attention, Rayetta. You need to pay attention once in a while.

Crumby Ovate! I was too paying attention.

No, you were not, Rayetta. You were not paying attention. But rather than backtrack over an old scent trail, how about this. Instead of spelling how Magnus is fixing to live a life of servitude with those elderly Druids, I could recount how Magnus got attacked by the ancient Romans. Then later, I could go back and spell out his life of servitude with the elderly Druids. Or, I could explain to everyone how Magnus and his porcine pal, Twrch Trwyth, eventually discover magnetism; the art, science, law, or whatever. How about that?

Go for it, Crumby.

Go for what, Rayetta? Which option as presented, should I go for?

Go for the ancient Romans.

OK Rayetta. That is my instinct also. Did you know Rayetta, that at the time Magnus encountered the ancient Romans, Magnus had a beautiful young lady assistant in his employ? That young lady assistant was perfect in terms of prettiness and efficiency. Yet she was flawed in one respect only. She had a speech impediment. That is shockingly correct, a single imperfection. Nothing was wrong with any part of her, even her ears worked perfectly, but she had this one blemish of her person. She pronounced rs as if they were ws. Common pronunciations like begorrah and harrooh were entirely beyond her capacity.

Hmmm. I think I understand, Crumby. There is an r in ancient Romans.

Yes there is. I am most gratified, lovely Druidess, that you took time from your busy schedule to pay attention.

You are welcome, Crumby.
