Ray's Thought for the Day - Lead Boots

I forgot to mention. Back on 10/3 we had fog, a rare occurrence of late, much rarer than a full moon. Last night was a full moon night. In between, in terms or rarity, is the arrival of my weekly cinnamon bun which I anticipate anon. Praise the Goddess!

One of the first lessons you learn in Sun God Training is to protect your heels. Lo, many a Sun God Trainee has failed to matriculate due to a fatal heel injury. For that reason, any time I go anywhere these days, where a Potential Safety Topic - Environmental Heel Hazard might be lurking, I wear my patent pending lead (as in the metallic element) boots. They sure are heavy. But my tutors tell me that I can't be too careful, what with all the potential heel threats out there.

See! Sun God Trainees have way more environmental hazards to deal with than the Virtual Homeland Security Department could ever conjure up by themselves. And the hazards are real. Consider the case of Mopsus the Lapith, bitten on his heel by the Black Snake of Libya. Mopsus should have had on some lead boots.

Well it's time to go on the Promenade for Produce so that I may acquire my delicious cinnamon bun. The vendor arrives around 9:30. It's 8 now. So if I start out now, I can maybe cover three blocks in an hour and a half and be first in line.
