Crumby, on the Job

Cruelly used was I, by my cruel taskmasters as they whipped me up hill and down hill. Yet sometimes I would sneak off and rest my weary bones and maybe have a nice drink of water. So here I sat, out of harms way and what do I espy but this poor wild hyacinth (Camassia scilloides) also cruelly afflicted. Nearly every one of them on the whole place where I worked today is eaten up like this, by the deer. Those deer are eating themsleves out of house and home. Even the Yuccas are guzzled right down to ground level. Mercy! The deer have pooped everywhere. One can scarcely see the ground in some spots for all the deer poop.
