Rayetta's Butterflies - Butterfly Banana Bonanza

Well poop my panties. While performing the routine documentation photography of my butterfly feeder today, I took this picture. Hmmm. That middle butterfly sure is funny looking, I thought to myself. Why my goodness gracious, clean me up, that is a brand new butterfly for the CB Butterfly Documentation System (CB-BDS). That butterfly in the middle is a Tropical Leafwing (Anaea aidea), and very similar to that other tropical leafwing I saw on Crumby's late job a while back. Yippee!!!!

Later.

Uh, oh. That tropical leafwing may be a goatweed leafwing (Anaea andria)instead. In fact, the second tail is stubby, compared to the specimen photo at Dallas Lepidopterists. So my leafwing may be the goatweed. But that's OK. The goatweed is a new one too. Plus, I got lots better photos of it now.

Matter of fact, both leafwings may be visiting my feeder. Hmmm. I better check all those photos again for commas, also.
