Rayetta's Butterflies - Lerema accius

Well, it is about time for a skipper that is not mostly orange. Here is a dark brown skipper, a male clouded skipper, perched on the Indiangrass. This is a rather large, small skipper, and nervous, 2- - 3 on the Rayetta scales.

Also, my brother, Ray, likes flies. So sometimes he takes their pictures. This robber fly, 18-20mm maybe, "Efferia" maybe, could be getting my littler butterflies. Here he is, skulking in the dark on a Verbesina virginica leaf.
