Ray's thought for the Day - Mercy! How Time Flies!!!!
Who but I knows the secrets of the unopened Dolmen? That is a good question! Here it is, Day 14 of the Druid Year, 1, our little globe is recklessly hurtling along, and the calendar isn’t keeping up. All righty then. I need to fix it up.
First of all, the season of Druid Year 1 we are traveling amid, Polaris or Polar Bear, needs to be divided up. I was going to name the resulting partitions after my bosom companion, Crumby. But now I’m not going to do that. I am seriously aggravated with Crumby. No partitions get named for that rascal. Also, Polar Bear Season is complicated by the fact that Polar Bear transgresses across two years, the old year past, and this new Year 1. So Polar Bear needs to include the last part of the old year as well as the Polar Bear days on the far horizon of the current year, year 1. Additionally, to deal with astronomical problems beyond my control, I need to make the first partition bigger to cover some flexibility issues. My first idea, a while back, was to make it just a few days, like five or six days long. That' won't work. So now the first partition shall be lots bigger.
Here’s what I am going to do. Polar bear runs from Day 330 through Day 87. From Day 330 through Day 6, just to be on the safe side, the partition is hereby declared to be named, Hep Me, WG!!!!. The second partition, Day 7 to Day 87, is, I declare, Praise Ye, WG!!!!.
Obviously, we are no longer within the confines of Hep Me WG!!!! partition, which partition, has passed everyone by. We are now in Praise Ye, WG!!!! Praise Ye, WG!!!! is going to last awhile longer so maybe I can catch up. In fact, I still have, counting today, about 71 days to catch up before the commencement of Hope Remains, the season, not the ace reporter or girlfriend. One advantage of designing the Druid calendar with longer partitions is you have more time to catch up. Events don’t sneak up on you so easily.
Included here is my thought regarding all this represented diagrammatically. All the different highlights of this segment of the year are identified by arrows and/or their names. The inverted -three gallon pot is diagrammatic of the stygian darkness between Earth and Ogma.
