Ray's Thought for the Day
Good Goddess, it's raining a little. Meantime what passes for a daily newspaper in these parts advises that the average lawn only needs 36.5 inches of sprinkling annually. The daily newspaper bunch must have acquired that interesting fact at enviropreneur camp.
The ruling class rag in these parts also features Austin Bey or maybe he spells it Bay, National Security Specialist, on its editorial page. Whew! I never can quite get past the thumbnail portrait of Austin and his self-described area of expertise. So I have never actually read any of his opinions. Yep, I'm stereotyping Austin on account of his appearance in that thumbnail, juxtaposed with National Security Expert. (If it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, and swims when it rains, and waddles along if it don't, rain - duck).
Hark! Should gay Republicans be treated differently from sad Republicans? Easy that, noper, gay and and sad alike need to keep clear of the Cow Barn, for our security.

Ray, is it Expert or Specialist?
I thought it was Specialist, Crumby.
I'm not sure Ray. It could be Expert.
Well, we could look at the spell if we could find the right newspaper, Crumby.
I'm wore out and aint likely to go through a bunch of old newspapers, Ray.
All righty then, let's put our heads together on the subtopic, Expert Vs. Specialist, Crumby.
All righty then.
Er!
Er!
All righty then Crumby. My sun god training is kicking in. To be an Expert one has to have a degree plus some experience on the subtopic, maybe. To be a Specialist one has to have matriculated from a trade school, maybe, and then honed in razor sharp on one particular subtopic. It takes years and years to make an Expert and almost as long to make a Specialist. Course the time it takes varies with the potential for uptake of the potential Expert or Specialist.
That sounds reasonable, Ray. Uh, I came in here for some other reason though. Whut the heck was it? Ha, now I remember. There's a great big long Panicum obtusum stolon apparent in the north pasture. Want to go measure it?
Dern tootin'! Let's go measure it. Break out the Range Wands.

Forty-nine inches, Crumby. Ye will need to convert that to cubits fer Red.
Yepper, Red likes everything in cubits.
Say Crumby, I saw yer spell on Cepheus. Wasn't Cepheus in that cool movie we saw a while back starring Harry Hamlin as Perseus and a really neat mechanical owl?
Dang Ray. Yer correct. I clean forgot about that movie. That movies got Cepheus and Cassiopeia and Perseus and Andromeda and Pegasus the Flying Horse in it, in addition to that swell owl. We need to watch that movie again. I'm very interested in those subtopics now, whereas before, I just liked the name, Hamlin, due to its porcine familiarity.
Yepper. We need to watch it again!
Ray. Oh Ra-ay. It's time for your sun god lessons.
Uh oh, the triplicate ladies chime up. Yep, find that dang movie Crumby and we can watch it again after my lesson.
All righty then.
