Shopping, La-de-da, La-de-da
Is it any wonder that shopping replaced baseball as the national pastime? Shopping is quick paced and exciting. Shopping is an adventure.
Since Rayetta is very busy, I, Crumby Ovate, have the important responsiblility, designated shopper. Yet, I am only in charge of one item to shop for, the elusive Olympus 70-300mm telephoto/macro.
These days, shoppers like to share shopping experiences via the magic of internet chat forums. An eavesdropper on these forums, like me, can learn lots about a product many shoppers are fixing to procure, or have already procured, for themseves, maybe.
Sadly, this particular item is not easy to come by. But apparently, a very brave state department employee volunteered to negotiate the release of the pirated lens shipment. Now, thanks to this obscure, low level bureaucrat, the hostage lenses are being released a few at a time, maybe.
The chat rooms are semi-abuzz with reports of shopping adventures. One shopper reports success, at Samys. Another shopper found the lens at Fry's. Yet nobody, to date, knows for sure if these stores are Authorized Olympus Dealers. That's important because the 50 smackeroo rebate only applies to lenses purchased at an Authorized Olympus Dealer. Is there a list of Authorized Olympus Dealers? Apparently not.
This kind of detail is important to the shopper. Obviously, the serious shopper yearns to pay the lowest possible price. So that rebate is important.
There are lots of other details the cunning shopper must get the skinny on besides whether the vendor is authorized, like comparative pricing, taxes, shipping cost. Ideally, the top-notch shopper shall purchase from the cheapest authorized dealer, pay no tax, pay no shipping, plus get the rebate and a nice warranty.
Shoppers! Do not forget the warranty? That warranty shall likely come in handy, especially when you have successfully shopped for a new model electro gizmo, given that commies and pirates may have already fooled around with your new electro gizmo before it got rescued by the state department.
Dern it! Whenever shall I proudly annouce, Rayetta, I have found it, for sale available, authorized, no tax, free shipping, rebate, guaranteed non-fondled, warrantied. We are good to go!
