Speculation

Crumby got to thinking this morning about the topic, Snowden.  To begin with, Crumby thought, serves the NSA right for wasting my tax money on consultants when an actual government employee should be doing that job.  (As a communist, Crumby has no problem with plenty of government jobs so long as cronyism and nepotism are marginalized).

But what to do about Snowden?  Crumby is in favor of sending him a check for $50 and and a "best wishes, you are free to go" letter.  But then,  that's Crumby's solution for all such and similar shenanigans. Because,  Crumby does not want his tax money squandered by the USA World Police crowd in the first place.

Which brings everyone to Crumby's second thought.  Is the USA World Police fixing to kill Snowden?  Like Crumby believes the USA World Police,  almost all the US Congress and most  Amerikanos in general would like to see Snowden taken out in a drone strike.  Especially, if President Obama could, as a postscript to Snowden's demise, completely deny any knowledge of or culpability with said fatal drone strike.

Yes.  Snowden deceased by drone would give the capitalist media days to go on.  Mercy!

But what about drone strikes in places like Hong Kong or Moscow?  So far, most of the drone strikes have occurred in air space over the technologically hopeless.   Can we do drone strikes in the skies above the slightly more advanced?  Like Russia!  Goodness!

Another Summer Solstice Past

A tiny planet that many call, Earth, hustles along through space.  Yesterday, out in space, Earth, made it half way around its regular orbit of the Sun, that some call Ogma Sunface.  Meantime, back on Earth, humans count days past with a view to days to come.  Earth swoops through space, humans, accordingly,  count days.  How odd is that?

Earth only has a few more days to go on its trip before, here on Earth, Le Tour de France commences.  On the same day that ignoble race begins, many shall become eligible for Social Security.  While many other have to wait various days for that inaugural check that sadly, may never arrive.

Yes.  You may not get your inaugural Social Security check, ever.  Why?  Well, the Amerikano Police State would rather increase the size of the Police State, than pay the Social Security.  It's like catching Mexicans fixing to sneak in to do an honest days work is more important than Social Security.  Mercy!

What's Cissus incisa good fer?

Right now the best show playing at the CB is on the Cissa incisa stage.  Or what's left of it.  That's right.  Many eat cow itch.  So that's what stinky grape is good fer.  Grub fer many.  Below are, top to bottom, Eumorpha achemon, Xeroceris wilsonii and the sawfly, Ceratalus spectabilis.

Panometia condefacta

This particular moth was ided at the CB for the first time last night.  It eats ragweed.  Yet like Red always says, you may think a plant is bad, then you get rid of it, and the Goddess visits you with something worse

For example, we went to considerable effort and even expense to get shut of the kr bluestem at the CB.  Then the buffalograss set down to replace the kr, mostly died. Then, in came the speargrass,

Speargrass is native.  But the trouble with speargrass, is spears.  So on balance, speargrass is not much of an improvement over the kr.  Some, but not much.

Also, besides speargrass, we now have plenty of the annoyingly rhizomatous ragweed, Ambrosia psilostachya.  Seemingly,  most mortals are allergic to this ragweed so Red feels obliged to make Ray or Crumby mow it or pull it up or somehow manage it.

Yes.  When it comes to nature, human monkeyshines nearly always make the situation we are now discussing worse than pre-shine.  Anyway this little moth, also known as the olive-sided bird dripping moth,  is trying to help out.  Did I already mention that it's babies eat ragweed?

Meanwhile, Crumby is too disgusted with birding to continue his Big Ass Year.  Why?  Because to espy new birds for the annual list, one has to take trips via automobile on crowed, dangerous roadways.  Then, when one arrives at an overcrowded destination, one is liable to espy 1/3 + 1 of the anticipated members of Class Aves leaving nearly 2/3 of the anticipated of the per annum.  Screw that.  It's not worth the trouble.  Bugs at home are better.

Mantispid

Twain mantispids alit upon the barn windows last night;  new family, genus, species for the CB insect documentation project.  Here is one of those mantipids, probably Dicromantispa interrupta.
